Majolique Ehrmann et Deck

This is an François-Emile Ehrmann and Théodore Deck majolica of a soldier inspired from Castel Durante at the Petit Palais in Paris. A majolica is a glossy ceramic or earthenware therein, and we find in this one a beautiful soldier with long hair wearing a Bourguignon helmet whit a peacock feather. The flourishes of his suit and helmet are reminiscent of the Pupi a Sicilian traditional puppets from 19th centuries.
