Fontaine de Neptune

There are about more than 2,500 fountains in Rome, from the smallest like the Fontana delle api up to the large and majestic as the one of Trevi. The Fountain of Neptune is one of the three adorning the Piazza Navona and was carried out in 1574 by Giacomo della Porta who is the builder of the dome of St. Peter’s in Rome. Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome, near the Pantheon and built on the ruins of the Domitian stadium. Restaurants are expensive in every known place in Rome and the Piazza Navona makes no exception… but a small Campari soda with a magnificent view worth the few bucks.
